Though Reliance Jio's average download speed is nearly twice of its rivals, it is also following a downward trend. The average download speed on Jio network is 17.2 Mbps in February and 17.42 Mbps in January. The growing network congestion may be playing the spoilsport for Jio.

On the other hand, for March Airtel registered average 4G download speed of 10.43 Mbps, which is lower than 11.24 Mbps in February. Idea also saw a month-on-month drop with 12.02 Mbps in March from 12.21 Mbps in February. Vodafone is trailing by a significant margin with an average 4G download speed of 7.93 Mbps in March, down from 8.33 Mbps in February. It is worth noting that every telecom operator registered lower speeds compared to the previous month.

The irony is Reliance Jio which trounced others in average download speed is lagging behind with average upload speed of 3.45 Mbps in March. However, it better than February reading of 2.2 Mbps.
